New Minor Program "Authenticity and Art Crime" |
The Centre for Global Heritage and Development is excited to announce the launch of a new LDE Minor Program which will commence in autumn 2023. This minor will provide students with the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research and gain hands-on experience in the field of art crime prevention. By studying the latest techniques in authentication, provenance research, and legal frameworks, graduates of this program will be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue careers in museums, galleries, auction houses, and beyond. |

Atlantic Wall - Continuing Research |
The student hub, organized with our partners on the Atlantic Wall in The Hague in May of this year, sees an exciting continuation. Through the Coherent project, led by Prof. Hester Dibbits, and financed through the National Science Agenda (Dutch National Research Agenda),we obtained funding for the project Citizens Perspective on the Atlantic Wall. |

Meet the New HuT Cluster Leader: Dr. Naomi Oosterman |
The Center for Global Heritage and Development is pleased to welcome Dr. Naomi Oosterman as the new Cluster Leader for the cluster Heritage under Threat, joining Dr. Dominique Ngan-Tillard (Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences, TU Delft) in this role. Naomi has been a very active member of the Center for many years. |

Interview with Dr. Maaike de Waal |
Since 2021, Dr. Maaike de Waal has been working as assistant professor and head of the Field Research Education Center of the Faculty of Archeology at Leiden University. Her research focuses on Landscape Archaeology, Prospective Archaeology, Predictive Mapping and Archaeological Heritage Management and Protection. Together Ilaria Rosetti, Mara de Groot and Uditha Jinadasa, she is editor of the book the book Living (World) Heritage Cities, published by Sidestone Press 2022. |
